It is not very hard to install washing machine lines, but this job can be physically demanding. If you don’t have someone to help you move your appliance, call a professional. If you do have some assistance, here’s how you can take care of this project.
First, turn off the power to the appliance and shut off the main water valve so that water won’t enter the hose while you’re installing the lines. Also, this will keep the washing machine from inadvertently turning on. Make sure that your fill hoses are the right distance from the appliance to your plumbing. Put some plumber’s grease on the threads of the hose to make it easier to connect. Take off the gaskets and grease them as well.
Identify the hot and cold water valves and connect the hoses to their corresponding valves. You may want to use a pair of pliers to make sure you have a tight connection. Then, turn the water back on and turn on the machine to make sure everything is working correctly and there are no leaks.
